"St Francis de la Sissies"

What do you get when monks who take a vow of silence are also confronted with the exhortation to make a joyful noise to the Lord? Well, check this out and have a good laugh.

(I had seen this routine before, but on a different stage, as I recall. It's good to laugh with it again, though.)

  2. Maybe the intro to this was what Luther was thinking of when he wrote "Alas! there are other preachers, who, like they are believers, preach in such high-flown language that it passes the comprehension of the people."

  3. What do the last cards say, at the end of the piece?
That's so clever and so hilarious. Thanks for sharing.

  4. Susan,

I had just assumed that the cards at the end were the same as earlier in the piece. But now that you mentioned it, I do notice that they change the cards as the song is nearing the end. While it's hard to see on the small YouTube screen, I now wonder if the cards say: "Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year." That's just my guess, because it's difficult to see the words due to the camera not zooming in on them.

    Glad you enjoyed it!
